Privacy Policy

Last Updated & Effective Date: November 2026 | Version 2.1

1. Introduction & Scope

WeddingBlues ("WeddingBlues", "Studio", "we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting your privacy and handling personal information with the highest degree of care, transparency, and legal integrity. This Privacy Policy governs the collection, processing, storage, and disclosure of data when you access weddingblues.com, interact with our guided digital invitation customizer, communicate with our WhatsApp concierge, or access any client wedding invitation microsite hosted on our network or custom subdomains.

By accessing our services, creating an invitation, or providing information to us, you acknowledge and agree to the data collection and processing practices described herein. This policy is formulated in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) of India, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, as well as global data protection frameworks including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) where applicable to international clients and guests.

2. Categories of Information We Process

We process personal data in several distinct categories based on your interactions with our platform:

  • Client-Furnished Wedding Data: Couple full names, parent lineage, ceremony titles, schedules, auspicious timings (Muhurat), venue locations, Google Maps coordinates, attire guidelines, couple bios, personal photographs, couple video files, and musical/soundtrack preferences.
  • Contact & Communication Data: Mobile phone numbers, WhatsApp contact information, email addresses, and communication history exchanged with our studio during the design, revision, and delivery process.
  • Guest Interaction & RSVP Data: Attendee names, headcount confirmations, ceremony selections, dietary preferences, celebratory wishes, and RSVP logs submitted by invited guests through interactive microsite forms or WhatsApp click-to-chat triggers.
  • Technical & Telemetry Data: Browser user-agent strings, device operating systems, screen resolutions, referring URLs, access timestamps, and Internet Protocol (IP) addresses recorded automatically by our hosting infrastructure and content delivery networks (CDNs) for security auditing, DDoS mitigation, and system diagnostics.

3. Client Warranties & Third-Party Consents (Legal Safe Harbor)

Critical Legal Representation: As a client commissioning a digital wedding invitation or microsite from WeddingBlues, you represent and warrant that:

  1. You have obtained all legally requisite consents, permissions, and authorizations from all individuals whose names, likenesses, biographical details, or contact data are submitted to WeddingBlues for inclusion in the invitation (including family members, parents, and wedding party participants).
  2. You possess all necessary intellectual property rights, licenses, or explicit permissions for any photographs, audio recordings, musical compositions, artwork, monograms, or video media uploaded or provided to us for incorporation into your invitation.
  3. The content submitted does not violate any third-party privacy rights, publicity rights, copyright, trademark, or applicable statutory laws.

WeddingBlues operates strictly as an intermediary and technical service provider executing the client's direct instructions. You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless WeddingBlues, its owners, operators, and contractors from and against any third-party claims, liabilities, damages, or legal expenses arising out of or related to content, photos, music, or data furnished by you.

4. Purpose and Lawful Basis for Processing

We process personal data solely for explicit, legitimate, and lawful purposes:

  • To assemble, customize, host, and maintain your digital wedding invitation microsite across global high-speed delivery networks.
  • To provide personalized customer support, creative previews, text modifications, and order fulfillment via our official WhatsApp Concierge.
  • To transmit RSVP headcounts, dietary notices, and guest wishes back to the couple via agreed digital channels.
  • To maintain platform security, detect fraudulent activities, prevent unauthorized server misuse, and fulfill statutory legal obligations.

No Sale of Personal Data: WeddingBlues does not sell, rent, lease, trade, or monetize client or guest personal data to data brokers, marketing agencies, or unauthorized third parties under any circumstances.

5. Nature of Public Invitation URLs & Guest Access

Unless otherwise agreed in a bespoke package, digital wedding invitations and microsites are published as accessible web URLs (for example, https://www.weddingblues.com/yourname or a dedicated custom domain) designed for seamless sharing by the couple with their invited circle over WhatsApp, SMS, email, and social messaging channels.

The client acknowledges that any individual who receives or accesses the shared link will be able to view the wedding ceremonies, event dates, couple photographs, and venue locations displayed on the microsite. While search engine index-blocking directives (such as noindex, nofollow headers) are placed on invitation pages to discourage search engine indexing, WeddingBlues cannot restrict access to individuals with whom the client or their guests choose to share the link.

6. Hosting Lifecycles & Data Retention

Client invitation microsites remain hosted for the active period specified in the purchased studio package (e.g., up to 3 months post-wedding for Elegant, up to 6 months post-wedding for Signature, or as agreed under Royal Signature).

Upon expiration of the agreed hosting term, WeddingBlues reserves the right to decommission, archive, or permanently purge the invitation files and media from our active hosting infrastructure. Clients are encouraged to retain local copies of all high-resolution photos, videos, and PDFs provided during the design phase. Backup logs and operational records may be retained for longer periods strictly where required by applicable financial, taxation, or cybersecurity laws.

7. Third-Party Service Providers & Sub-Processors

To provide world-class uptime, fast global video streaming, and instant messaging, WeddingBlues engages carefully vetted third-party infrastructure providers:

  • Cloud Hosting & CDN Infrastructure (e.g., Netlify, AWS, Cloudflare): For edge caching, SSL/TLS certificate enforcement, and secure web asset delivery.
  • Messaging Platforms (WhatsApp Business / Meta Platforms): For direct client onboarding, draft proofing, and guest RSVP interactions.
  • Mapping Services (Google Maps API / Alphabet Inc.): For venue location pins, route planning, and navigation links.

These third-party platforms govern data processed on their systems under their respective privacy policies. WeddingBlues is not responsible for the independent data handling practices of third-party platforms.

8. Data Security Measures

WeddingBlues enforces industry-standard technical and organizational security controls, including 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit, strict access control policies, periodic security audits, and firewall protections. While we implement robust safeguards to protect your information, no internet transmission or digital storage system is 100% impenetrable. Consequently, WeddingBlues cannot guarantee absolute immunity from sophisticated unauthorized intrusions beyond commercially reasonable standards.

9. Your Data Rights & Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction and under applicable data protection laws (including the DPDP Act 2023 and GDPR), you may hold the following statutory rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of Access & Correction: The right to review, update, or correct inaccurate or incomplete wedding information during active revision periods.
  • Right to Erasure / Deletion: The right to request the early removal or permanent deletion of your published invitation microsite.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: The right to withdraw consent previously granted for optional media or promotional portfolio features.

To exercise any of these rights, the primary client must contact our Grievance Officer using the verified email or WhatsApp number associated with the order.

10. Children's Privacy

Our website and design services are directed exclusively to adults of legal contracting age. We do not intentionally solicit or collect personal information directly from individuals under the age of 18 without explicit parental or legal guardian authorization.
